The IV. Entrepreneurship and Career Summit Held at Atatürk Congress Center of Our University
Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ) hosted the “IV. Entrepreneurship and Career Summit”, organized by the Entrepreneurship and Career Development Application and Research Center (GİKAM) in partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) and supported by various student clubs. The summit took place at the Atatürk Congress Center with participation from:
- Eylem Ayar, Deputy Mayor of Afyonkarahisar
- Prof. Dr. Şuayıp Özdemir, Vice Rector of AKÜ
- Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, Dean of FEAS
- Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldız, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
- Cengiz Üstün, President of the Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen
- Kadir Sayın, President of Afyonkarahisar Industrialists and Businessmen Association (AFSİAD)
- Hüsnü Serteser, President of Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Dr. Koray Gürpınar, Director of GİKAM
- Representatives of civil society organizations, academic staff, and students.
In his opening speech, Dr. Koray Gürpınar, Director of GİKAM, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation for young people. Prof. Dr. Şuayıp Özdemir emphasized the contributions of entrepreneurship to Turkey’s economy and its role in creating employment.
Eylem Ayar, Deputy Mayor of Afyonkarahisar, stated that entrepreneurship and career development are complementary concepts and discussed their significance in the business world.
The summit featured inspiring talks from notable figures:
- İsmail Fidan, Producer of Rafadan Tayfa
- Recai Çakır, Entrepreneur
- Lütfü Hakan Polatoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors at ETİ Gıda
The speakers shared their success stories and experiences with the attendees. The program concluded with a plaque presentation to the speakers.
