An event titled “Mehmet Akif and the Turkish National Anthem” was held in our faculty’s Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall, with Dr. Şenol Gündoğdu, faculty member of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, serving as the speaker. The conference was attended by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş; the Dean of the Bolvadin Faculty of Applied Sciences and Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fişne; along with academics and students.

In his presentation, Dr. Gündoğdu discussed the historical context of the Turkish National Anthem, the life of Mehmet Akif, and the process of writing the anthem. He emphasized that Mehmet Akif, regarded as one of the spiritual leaders of the National Struggle, composed the anthem within 10 days at the Taceddin Lodge, capturing the spirit of the era.

The program concluded with a Q&A session.
