One of the faculty members of our faculty, Res. Assist. İsmail Kayadibi, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gür Emre Güraksın, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Engineering, developed an innovative artificial intelligence-based method in the field of dentistry.
The study combines explainable artificial intelligence approaches with deep learning techniques to automatically detect wisdom teeth from panoramic X-rays and supports early diagnosis and surgical planning processes in dentistry.
This research makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of patient care and developing AI-based clinical decision support systems. In addition, the study directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals “Health and Quality of Life (SDG-3)” and “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG-9)”.
