A seminar titled “The Role of Students in Social Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Department of Business Administration of our faculty.

The event, supported by the Entrepreneurship and Career Society (GİKAT), took place at the İİBF Prof. Dr. Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall with Businesswoman Aliye Mete Sert as the speaker. The seminar was attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hale Fulya Kaya; Head of the Business Administration Department, Prof. Dr. Hatice Özutku; Vice Heads of the Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Arif Arifoğlu and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mücahid Yıldırım; GİKAT Advisor Asst. Prof. Dr. Koray Gürpınar; NGO representatives; academic staff; and students.

In her presentation, Sert addressed the concept of social value–oriented entrepreneurship, emphasizing that the student years are the most suitable stage to begin engaging in social entrepreneurship. She highlighted that young individuals’ willingness to take risks, innovative perspectives, culture of solidarity, digital literacy, and social sensitivity contribute significantly to the social entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Aliye Mete Sert by Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Hale Fulya Kaya, and a group photo.
