A “International Students Cultural Gathering” event was organized by our faculty with the contributions of international students studying at our institution.

The event took place at the Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fişne, Dean of Bolvadin Faculty of Applied Sciences and Coordinator of International Relations, our Vice Deans Asst. Prof. Dr. Hale Fulya Kaya and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Balkı, along with academic and administrative staff, and students.

“Differences are not barriers; they are our richness”

Morsal Batari, President of the Afghan Students Community, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing that the gathering of students from 12 different countries, cultures, and languages showcases the fascinating diversity of humanity. She highlighted that coming together under the same roof demonstrates how colorful the world is, noting that the purpose of the event is not only to introduce cultures but also to create a space for everyone to share their own experiences. Batari stated, “Standing here side by side today shows that differences are not obstacles, but rather a beauty that enriches us.”

“Diversity in our faculty contributes to the University’s mission”

Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Hale Fulya Kaya expressed her pleasure in bringing together international students to share their cultures. She noted that the faculty hosts more than 2,000 students, 424 of whom are international students. Kaya stated that Indonesia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan are among the countries with the highest number of students, underlining that the faculty embraces students from many different nations. She said, “This picture reflects the cultural diversity of our faculty and shows that we maintain an inclusive structure for students from different nationalities.” She also emphasized that this diversity significantly contributes to the university’s mission in education, research, social engagement, and internationalization. Kaya added that international students bring academic, social, and cultural dynamism to the faculty and broaden perspectives.

Following the opening remarks, the program continued with a dombra performance and dance show by students from Kyrgyzstan, traditional dance and cultural performances from Indonesia and Africa, followed by the serving of “Uzbek Pilaf” and a tour of the cultural stands.
