A “Career Talk” event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Finance, the Department of Accounting and Tax Applications at Çay Vocational School, and the Finance Club of our Faculty.
The event took place at the Prof. Dr. Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, Çay Vocational School Deputy Director Lecturer Turan Ulaş, academic staff, and students.
“FEAS graduates have broad employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors”
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Dr. Rıdvan Önder provided students with detailed insights into various career paths available to graduates of finance, accounting, and related fields. He emphasized that FEAS graduates have wide-ranging employment prospects across both the public and private sectors.
Dr. Önder highlighted that students aiming for public sector careers may become inspectors, internal auditors, Court of Accounts auditors, or specialists, while in the private sector, fields such as accounting, finance, and banking offer significant opportunities. He added that inspector roles in banks, although demanding, provide strong financial and social advantages.
“Setting a clear direction is essential”
Dr. Önder noted that many sectors—including human resources, sales, and marketing—also actively seek FEAS graduates, encouraging students to shape their career paths in line with their skills and interests.
He also discussed specialized professional tracks, stating that graduates may become Certified Public Accountants, financial advisors, or sworn-in financial advisors, and emphasized that sustainability auditing has emerged as an increasingly important career field.
Underscoring the value of having a clear goal, Dr. Önder said:
“If you do not determine which direction you will pursue after graduation, you cannot make progress. Just as a ship without a set course cannot reach its destination, you cannot succeed without defining your path.”
The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of a plaque to Dr. Rıdvan Önder by FEAS Dean Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş.
