Within the scope of the 2025 Alumni Meetings, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) organized an event titled “Risks and Surprises in Business Life.”
The meeting was held at the Prof. Dr. Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall with the participation of the Dean of FEAS Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demirtaş, academic and administrative staff, and students.
Our distinguished alumni, Mr. Ömer Ünal (Entrepreneur & Founder of Gözbaşı Gıda Co.) and Mr. Mehmet Perk (Board Member & Commercial Director of Karcan Inc.) attended as speakers. During the program, they shared their experiences in the business world, their entrepreneurial journeys, and valuable insights on career planning, opportunities, and challenges in professional life.
Emphasizing the importance of standing out in a competitive job market, Mr. Ünal advised students:
“Do not graduate with nothing from a department where you can become everything.”
He highlighted personal development and sectoral differentiation as key success factors.
Mr. Perk underlined the value of learning through experience and stated:
“A person who has never made mistakes is someone who has never tried or taken any risks.”
Additionally, he pointed out that English proficiency is no longer an advantage but a fundamental requirement for global competitiveness. Communication skills and continuous learning were also noted as essential competencies.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by the presentation of appreciation to the speakers.
