Dear Internal and External Stakeholders,
With a history spanning nearly five decades, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences stands as one of the most established faculties of our university, comprising six departments: Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Political Science and Public Administration, International Trade and Finance, and Management Information Systems. In the conduct of education, research, and community engagement activities within our departments, our principal orientation is to adhere to national and international standards while systematically monitoring quality assurance practices in higher education, both in form and in substance. Accordingly, our academic and social activities are carried out in a rule-based, data-driven, and participatory manner.
In the domain of education, the Bologna Process serves as the foundation of our instructional framework. With the overarching aim of equipping our students with the competencies required for professional life after graduation, course curricula are regularly updated in line with scientific advancements and the demands of competitive markets. To ensure continuous enhancement of instructional quality, student evaluations of educational performance, conducted at the end of each semester, are systematically employed. One of our strategic objectives over the next three years is to complete departmental quality assurance processes and secure accreditation from nationally recognized organizations. Within this framework, accreditation processes will be initiated in all departments, beginning with the Faculty’s oldest department, Finance, and the English-taught Business Administration program, which holds particular significance for our international visibility.
Research and development activities are sustained through the scholarly publications and projects of our distinguished academic staff. Our goal is to strengthen the utilization of external resources, alongside existing institutional resources, in order to foster the production of high-quality academic work that meets international standards.
Community engagement activities within our faculty are carried out through three research centers directed by faculty members, as well as eight student societies and clubs led or advised by faculty members. With the aim of increasing both the scope and visibility of these activities, we plan to organize large-scale events in addition to focused activities tailored to specific areas of interest. A central priority in this regard is to enhance student participation and leadership at every stage of the process.
Our internationalization strategy is centered on the English-taught Business Administration program, which was established in 2007. Providing instruction entirely in English, this program attracts both domestic and international students. In parallel with the increasing proportion of international students, one of our objectives is to ensure that the faculty and departmental websites are continuously updated in English. Furthermore, our faculty has achieved national-level success in student mobility through Erasmus exchange programs. To ensure the sustainability of this success, we will continue to encourage students in all departments—particularly those in the English-taught Business Administration program—to take advantage of Erasmus opportunities.
As a graduate of the faculty established on October 12, 1974, it is a profound honor for me to share in the celebration of our 50th anniversary. With your participation, I hope that this milestone year will mark a significant turning point in the history of our institution.
