A conference titled “Dynamics of Family Businesses” was organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance of our Faculty.
The event, held at the Sabri Bektöre Conference Hall, was attended by Prof. Dr. Fikret Yaman, Head of the Department of International Trade and Finance, along with academic staff, business representatives, and students.
In his presentation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Karayormuk emphasized the importance of transferring family businesses from one generation to the next. He stated, “Family businesses can range from small shops to large holdings, and they are characterized by ownership and management control held by family members, where family values and principles significantly influence the company.”
Highlighting the need to distinguish between business and family life, Karayormuk said, “The interaction between these two domains depends largely on maintaining clear boundaries. When this balance is properly established, both the business and the family structure become stronger.”
The conference concluded with Prof. Dr. Fikret Yaman presenting a certificate of appreciation to Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Karayormuk for his valuable contributions.
